Ahmedabad was declared India’s first UNESCO World Heritage City because of its rich historical architecture, unique urban planning, and centuries-old cultural traditions. The structure was originally built to provide water to travelers and villagers in ancient times. The beautifully carved walls depict mythological scenes, floral patterns, and geometric designs, making it one of the finest examples of traditional stepwell architecture in India.

The Old City Heritage Walk offers visitors an opportunity to explore the historic neighborhoods of Ahmedabad, known as “pols.” These areas feature narrow streets, intricately carved wooden houses, ancient temples, and centuries-old community structures. During the walk, travelers can observe traditional architecture, local markets, and cultural practices that have been preserved for generations.

Kankaria Lake is one of Ahmedabad’s most popular recreational destinations. The area around the lake has been developed into a vibrant entertainment zone featuring walking pathways, gardens, boating facilities, toy trains, and amusement rides.
